Join us for the exciting experience of playing instruments
in an ensemble – like an orchestra! Students will have the opportunity to focus
on learning to play more complicated patterns, melodies, chords etc. on the
barred instruments -xylophones, metallophones and glockenspiels – each in
different sizes and tonalities. Recorder
and small percussion instruments will also be played. This ensemble will accompany the other music
classes as they perform in December.
(Participation in both music classes is fine.) In-class performances will
take place during spring semester. Students will learn about reading music and rhythm,
melody, harmony – skills needed for playing piano or other instruments.
